Who We Are

Christ Church Westlands is an Anglican Church which is a parish of the All Saints Cathedral Diocese and part of the All Saints Cathedral Archdeaconry. It is one of the 13 parishes that make the Diocese of All Saints Cathedral. It is located on Church Road which lies between Rhapta Road and Waiyaki Way in Westlands Nairobi. Within the All Saints Cathedral Diocese, Christ Church Westlands is the only Anglican parish in the Westlands area. The church serves an approximate population of 300 members with regular weekly attendance of church services at 150-200 members.

Christ Church Westlands was established in 1927 as a place of worship for non-Catholic children who attended St. Mary’s School. Lady McMillan an American mean aristocrat, land owner and farmer gave the current plot as a site to build children’s church.

The church since inception has maintained its focus on children ministry while it has developed into a family church. It has a membership that is small but is fairly well involved in the church activities and service, especially after the series of sermons on “The Excelling Church” which were delivered in July/August 2017. The church has built a distinct identity as unique institution that involves children and families to play active role in Sunday services and other church activities. The church has developed a system through which members check on each other and a sizeable number of congregants are enrolled into Cell/Bible Study groups. This further builds the camaraderie and provides pastoral care that cannot be managed by the limited number of clergy.
